Gaming fans have been excited for the PlayStation VR (the virtual reality headset previously known as Project Morpheus) for months. And thanks to sony we can now get a better glimpse of the new headset. Sony recently confirmed some of the specs and the release date.
Sony in their recent youtube video that the headset will be equipped with a 5.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080p and a 120Hz refresh rate, with decreased latency of under 18ms. That means crisp visuals and no lag when you turn your head.
When you put the headset on you will witness a 100-degree field of view to capture as much as possible. Positional tracking comes courtesy of 9 LEDs, and it has 360-degree head tracking. Plus 3D audio to intensify the headset even more.
According to SONY the headset will be available in the first half of 2016.
